Ceci Watson-Espener, was born in Panama, Republic of Panama where she completed her high school studies. She attended Sacred Heart College in the USA and in 1971 she studied design in Rome, Italy . In l972 she studied Interior Design and Architecture in Madrid, Spain where she received her undergraduate degree.
In 1980 she studied watercolors with Laureano Sastre and in l981 she studied clay modeling with the sculptor Berta Cotarello.
Since l982 she has dedicated herself to creating clay reliefs, sculptures and some oil paintings. Her most recent paintings have been in the médium of pastels and dedicated to ecological themes and the portrayal of endangered species, particularly those found in the oceans and jungles of her native Panama. She has also won prizes for her portrayal of dogs of all species.
Ceci Watson has a strong didactic aspect to her art. She was an art teacher for several years for children between 5 and 8 years of age in prívate bilingual schools in Madrid, Spain where she taught art in English.
She is a member of the Asociación de Pintores Pastelistas de España ASPAS-PASTEL and founding member of the Pastel Guild of Europe PGE She has won first, second and third prizes in the 2009 European Pastel Guild contests.
2010 Her painting “Shy Boy”, won the prize Gallery Directors Award –Infinity Art Gallery.
Her exposition will be in display from July 1-30. Wirtz Gallery located at First National Bank of South Miami, 5750 Sunset Drive, South Miami.
