Mayor Carlos Alvarez: You’re Fired!

Adriana Ramos

From the 829 voting centers with a capacity to receive 1.5 million voters, yesterday Dade County makes a resolution: to remove Mayor Carlos Alvarez.

With one of the highest rate of  unemployment in the Country, almost 10%, Dade County residents were angry after investigation that brought information that the tax increase -on property taxes- were used to increase salaries for only a few personnel of the County as well as to benefit some Companies.

Outraged civilians walk with several signs reading “OUT TO CORRUPT POLITICIANS”, and after voting the results are clear “Mayor Carlos Alvarez you’re Fired”.

This is a great example that Dade County is not longer “Sleeping Beauty” but a group of citizens worried for their future and for their families, but most important tired of the corrupted politicians that have mainly dominated the political arena in the history of Florida.
